Final piece

This is my final outcome, which is highly inspired by Lucinda Roger's work that is seen above. The composition relies on linear perspective that can be evidenced in the foreground where the buildings get progressively smaller until they meet in the centre of the composition and the vanishing point. In the background, there is a silhouette of tall buildings that are meant to be positioned in the distance hence why they are painted black. Furthermore, after painting the silhouettes, the black colour was very harsh and drew the viewers attention away from the foreground and the buildings, which defeats the point of my piece. As a consequence, I used a thin white pen to add detailing onto the buildings, which helped balance the composition slightly. After finishing my outcome, I learnt that the context behind the painting was not evidenced enough and doesn't communicate easily or well to the viewers. This also means that viewers are able to interpret the piece however they want but my intention was for the message of 'eternity' and almost being scared to follow the path as it is unknown as to what lies ahead to be easy to interpret. As a consequence, for my future projects in the communication course, I want to be able to send a message easily throughly art and will have to include specific iconography into my art that makes it easy to read the message.
